Europäische Filmförderungen erklären Solidarität mit dem ukrainischen Volk

EFAD expresses its solidarity with the Ukrainian people

EFAD members affirm that they stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people following the invasion of Ukraine which violates the territorial integrity of a sovereign nation. The core values of our association are to defend democracy, freedom of expression and freedom of artistic creativity as well as the respect of human rights. Each of these principles is now under threat in Ukraine.

All our members are committed to support the Ukrainian people, and their filmmakers, in every way they can. EFAD will reach out to our counterparts in Ukraine and discuss how we can best assist them. In coordination with other partners, EFAD members are ready to assist in the implementation of relevant protection measures to help ensure that Ukrainian filmmakers, audio-visual professionals and artistic community remain safe and free to express their talents and opinions.

«The violent aggression launched by Russian President Putin is a shock for all of us and we condemn it. Our members have established strong cooperation ties with Ukraine and stand by its creators», declares Luis Chaby Vaz, EFAD President.

EFAD (European Film Agency Directors Association) ist die Vereinigung der nationalen europäischen Filmförderungen. Die EFAD-Mitgliedschaft umfasst die Länder der Europäischen Union sowie Island, Norwegen, die Republik Nordmazedonien, Montenegro, Serbien, die Schweiz und das Vereinigte Königreich.

Die 35 EFAD-Mitglieder, zu denen auch die Filmförderungsanstalt FFA gehört, sind staatliche oder regierungsnahe öffentliche Einrichtungen, die für die nationale Finanzierung des audiovisuellen Sektors zuständig sind.
