List of Distributors
The prerequisite for funding is a legally binding, unconditional distribution agreement with a distributor who, within the last 24 months prior to the application, has released at least three feature-length films for one week on seven consecutive days with at least 10 prints in cinemas. For documentary and children's films, release on at least five days of a screening week with at least eight prints is sufficient. The DFFF maintains a list of distributors that meet these criteria.
When drawing up contracts, please note that
- theatre rights in Germany may not be sublicensed to third parties
- the holdback periods specified in the FFG must be observed
- the minimum number of prints specified in § 9 of the guidelines must be guaranteed.
